Directions to Sacred Heart

Exterior NWFrom the North on I-75 or I-85:

Continue south into downtown Atlanta. Take Exit 249A Courtland Street.  Turn right at the first intersection onto Baker St. Go one block and turn right onto Peachtree Center Avenue.  Sacred Heart is on the right about three-quarters of the way down the block.  Please read the parking information below.   

From the South on I-75 or I-85:

From I-75/85 and I-20 traveling north toward Atlanta: Continue north on I-75/85 into downtown Atlanta. Use exit 248C/International Boulevard. Go through one traffic light at the top of the ramp and to the second light at International Boulevard. Turn left onto International Boulevard.  Turn right onto Peachtree Center Avenue (second traffic light). Sacred Heart is on the right about three-quarters of the way down the block. Please read the parking information below.   

Walking from downtown hotels:

Walk north on Peachtree Street, one block beyond Peachtree Center Plaza and just past the SunTrust Tower, to where Peachtree Street and Peachtree Center Avenue merge. Sacred Heart is the red brick church with the twin spires on the right.

Walking from MARTA:

From the Peachtree Center station:  Follow the signs to Peachtree Center exit and this will lead to a very steep escalator. When you come out on Peachtree Street walk north (away from Five Points) on Peachtree Street. Go one block beyond Peachtree Center Plaza and the Hyatt Regency Hotel and past the SunTrust Tower to where Peachtree Street and Peachtree Center Avenue merge. Sacred Heart is the red brick church with the twin spires on the right.
From the Civic Center station:  Exit onto W. Peachtree Street and head south (toward downtown) to Ivan Allen Jr. Blvd., which is the first intersection.  Turn left and go one block to Peachtree Street.  Cross Peachtree and turn right.  Sacred Heart is the red brick church with the twin spires on the left.

Parking

Free parking is available in the lot directly behind Sacred Heart Church ONLY at the times listed below.   Parking fees will apply at all other times. On weekdays and before 5:00 p.m. on Saturdays, you must park in either the driveway immediately south of Sacred Heart or, if it is full, in a public parking lot.  Do not park on the street.

If you are attending a scheduled event at Sacred Heart after working hours and the parking lot behind the church is full or not open, you may park free at the SunTrust parking garage, which is located one-half block south of the church on Peachtree Center Avenue, by obtaining a sticker from Sacred Heart security guard Greg Addison and attaching it to the ticket you get from the parking garage.  Then present the ticket with the stamp attached when you leave the garage.  The stamp must be on the ticket for the parking to be free.

 

Directions to parking lot behind church:

The parking lot behind the church is owned and operated by Central Parking.  The entrance to the parking lot is on the south side Ralph McGill Blvd.  If you are driving west on Ralph McGill, the entrance is on the left after you cross Courtland St.  If you are driving east on Ralph McGill, the entrance is on the right after you cross Peachtree St.  If you driving north on Peachtree Center Avenue, merge onto Peachtree Street and turn right at the light.  The entrance to the parking lot will be on your right.

 

Avoid having your car booted or towed while you are visiting Sacred Heart.

Do not park in the lot next to the Imperial Hotel building.  Sacred Heart does not have an arrangement with the owner of this lot.  Also, except on Sunday, do not park on the street in front of the church.  Use only the lot behind the church as identified above.  It will cost  $50 or more to get your car released if you park in the wrong lot and you will get a parking ticket if you park on the street.

 

Handicapped Accessibility

Sacred Heart church and its facilities are handicapped accessible.  The church and rectory are accessible off Peachtree Center Avenue.  The Parish Hall and class/meeting rooms are accessible off Sacred Heart Way, the driveway/parking lot directly south of the church.
